Landscape

Installation / UK / 08-2016
Landscape is a video-based installation piece, exploring the feeling of memory assoicated with place – informed by my experience of distance and perception of change of Hong Kong having left the city.

I experimented with making island-object maquettes that could represent place, as well as exploring movements that abstracted and broke the form. For the installation, footage of abstracted, erratic movement of an island-object is projected across floating screens in a dark theatre space. Amplified audio of the groan and creak of the object as it is moved is played throughout. Visitors can walk amongst the screens, immersed in the experience of a destabilised world, place, or home as contours suspend and shift around them.
